We’re looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys accounting, loves digging into the details, and takes pride in producing accurate financial information.
You’ll work closely with our bookkeeping team, Senior Staff Accountants, and CPAs to ensure our clients receive accurate monthly financial reporting, clean books, and well-organized workpapers throughout the year.
This position is responsible for reviewing bookkeeping work, closing the books, preparing financial statements, and helping maintain the high level of service our clients have come to expect.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who wants to continue growing their accounting career and deepen their technical accounting knowledge over time.
What You’ll Do
While your tasks will vary day to day, we have built-in, recurring deadlines that will need to be met. We keep routine, but avoid the mundane. You’ll serve as a valued member of our Client Accounting Services team, reviewing bookkeeping work, closing the books, preparing financial reports, and helping ensure our clients receive accurate and timely financial information. You’ll work closely with our bookkeeping team, Senior Staff Accountants, and CPAs to identify issues, solve problems, and maintain the high level of service our clients have come to expect.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Review bookkeeping completed by the bookkeeping team
- Review account reconciliations and supporting workpapers
- Prepare and post adjusting journal entries
- Complete monthly and year-end close procedures
- Maintain balance sheet schedules and supporting documentation
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting reports
- Draft financial performance notes and commentary for clients
- Identify accounting issues and recommend solutions internally
- Assist with bookkeeping cleanup and catch-up projects as needed
- Ensure client files are complete, organized, and audit-ready
Payroll & Sales Tax
- Review payroll-related journal entries and account reconciliations
- Troubleshoot payroll accounting issues and payroll system integrations
- Assist with payroll setup and implementation projects
- Review payroll notices and assist with issue resolution
- Prepare and review sales tax returns
- Research and troubleshoot sales tax issues as they arise
- Assist with multi-state payroll and sales tax compliance projects
Technology & Process Improvement
- Troubleshoot accounting software and integrations
- Work with platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks Online, Gusto, Hubdoc, Shopify, Stripe, Square, Zapier, and other cloud-based applications
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies across client accounts
- Assist with implementation of new technology and workflow improvements
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Experience working in a public accounting, bookkeeping, CAS, or tax firm environment strongly preferred
- Experience reviewing bookkeeping and preparing financial statements
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience preparing adjusting journal entries and account reconciliations
- Experience supporting payroll accounting and payroll-related reconciliations
- Strong understanding of small business accounting
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for help
- Strong technology skills and willingness to learn new software

Compensation
$50,000 – $60,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
